My Keepsake for The New Home

We purchased a new home this year!!
All thanks be to God for this blessing.

For over a year, we had been actively looking to expand our living space.
Our top 3 criteria was 1) Our new home be fairly close to our starter home 2) Close to a church
3) family friendly

The Lord answered our prayers! I chose to use my spare time to create my own paper art.
Life gets busy and I forget to meditate. This cut is to remind me who is in control-- no matter what!

Below are some of my favorite features of our home!

We are 30 minutes from the highest peak east of the Mississippi-- Mount Mitchell.

We created a walking trail behind our house that opens up to some shaded woods.

We also have a stream we love to hear.

"Jesus forever our cornerstone." We are nothing without him!
Our cat loves to be by our side. She went nuts when left outside 😝

Paper Anniversary Gifts

Since reopening my Etsy in 2020, I have become to realize what my buyers like-- paper anniversary gifts. Traditionally, wedding anniversary gifts have been associated with paper for over 600 years!  Paper is seen to reflect the image of young marriage; a blank page open to new beginnings. Below are my most recent paper gifts, customized to my customer's requests. Absolutely brilliant quality item, brilliant communication and prompt trackable sending. Well worth the money and Rachel is lovely. 5 stars and would heartily use again. This item was a gift for a friend and it made them cry happy tears! If you want to buy a meaningful gift for someone I would highly recommend Rachel's shop. She was extremely helpful and kind, and even sent me little stickies for my photo cause I was framing it myself. 10 stars!  ✨My Shop✨ etsy.com

My Etsy Shop

I officially opened my Etsy shop this year!!!  On July, 21st I re-opened my shop after 11 years...  I didn't know what my niche was in 2009 and I had always been artsy. I liked to knit, crochet, paint, and sew. There was no focus then. Since 2012, my focus has been on-- paper cutting! "Why cutting paper?" you ask... good question. It's an unusual hobby and art. I received my first paper cut when I was in college and I loved the detail. It was a cut of the Chinese year. The year of the snake. It came from a friend who was studying abroad from China. I thought I'd give cutting a try and I loved it.  Since then, I've expanded my themes to: Wedding and Anniversary Bible Verses Sayings and Quotes Baby Gifts Homes Travel It's a niche I have stuck with for the past 8 years and I still enjoy cutting paper! Below is a video of an anniversary cut I did! If you would like your own, personalized paper cut, order from my Etsy! https://www.etsy.com/shop/rachelscustom

Housewarming Gift

New Home What better housewarming gift than this wall art? This paper cut looks great in a floating frame and hung against an accent wall.  This paper cut was made for the Rudd family after their big move. For approximately 12 years, the Rudd family lived in the same home. This was a big move for them especially, with 3 young boys.  Make this paper cut your own! Personalize your custom cut with your family name! I love personalized items with my name on it.  Art Process Creating my paper cuts comes easy and relaxing to me. After folding my paper in half, I sketch my design and start cutting the frame. One of my favorite parts is opening my fold after cutting the frame!! The pictures below show clearly how beautiful it is.  Make this housewarming gift your own! Visit my shop below to request your custom order! https://www.etsy.com/shop/rachelscustomdesign
